FOR ONLINE MERCHANT BUSSINES WHAT OTHER CHECKOUT CART PAYMENT TYPES ARE THERE, OTHER THAN PAYPAL?

Paypal fees appear to high, is there the improved way/free way?

Google Checkout is free through the end of the year. After that, fees will likely apply, though it’s possible they will extend the promo. Otherwise, a merchant account may be your best option, but it’s not free.

Really, if you’re serious about an online business you need to consider paying for a payment processor as a cost of doing business. You wouldn’t expect a reliable web host with all the bells and whistles you likely need to be free, so why would you expect a payment processor to be free as well?

A merchant account is not free, either. I have a merchant account, but the fees are only about half of what paypal charges. Still, that’s high.

There is no way to avoid paying those fees.
